Codes of conduct
The international organisation ECPAT (End Child Prostitution, Pornography, and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes) has produced a code of conduct for the tourist industry: Signatories undertake to include the rejection of child prostitution in their company policies, to have appropriate clauses in contracts with other service providers in the tourism sector, and to provide information for both personnel and tourists.
Show your commitment by signing the Code of Conduct developed by the ECPAT for tour operators. This document provides clear guidelines for protecting children against sexual exploitation.
Familiarise yourself with the tourism industry codes of conduct. The Global Code of Ethics for Tourism published by the WTO includes an article on the necessity of working together to combat the problem of sexual exploitation of children in tourism.
